Contemporary artist Rosemary Marchetta’s approach to art-making is deeply personal and intuitive. She finds inspiration in the beauty of nature, or by turning her gaze inward to discover the forms seeking expression within.

For me, the creation of a body of work generally begins with gathering impressions from a particular place and time. I listen with my eyes as well as my ears, allowing the sensations to penetrate deeply. I don’t need to know the outcome before I reach for my materials and feel my way forward. Concepts become clear during the creation process. Images become metaphors through which I make sense of my life and the world beyond myself. 

 

I feel compelled to give visual form to the beauty I perceive in the world around me. I share the work in the hope that it may uplift others and inspire them to pause and take notice that beauty is everywhere.

 

Rosemary received a BFA in Visual Communication from the University of Kansas, a certificate in Digital Post Production from Boston University, has participated in multiple solo and collective exhibitions, and won several awards for her art. She currently lives and works in Miami FL.
